#SUNDIAL by @catward66 is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read! It comes out on March 1, 2022, and mark my words, you need to preorder this baby now!

Rob is a wife and mother, married to Irving, with their two daughters, twelve-year-old Callie, and nine-year-old Annie. They witness some very disturbing behavior by Callie. Rob comes up with the idea to take Callie back to her childhood home deep in the Mojave Desert, a compound called SUNDIAL. Rob hopes this time away will help Callie deal with her demons. But Callie isn’t the only darkness in this family. There is much to learn here.

I don’t want to say more, because much like THE LAST HOUSE ON NEEDLESS STREET it’s best to go in blind. Ward has quickly become a favorite author of mine and I’m already anxious to read more of her work. Also, if you haven’t read THE LAST HOUSE ON NEEDLESS STREET, run, don’t walk to get yourself a copy! It’s the perfect book to tide you over until SUNDIAL comes out!

The moral of this caption is read anything #CatrionaWard writes. She’s brilliant.

What is your favorite decade to revisit? Mine is always the 1980s. It’s the decade I grew up in and it has a fun, colorful personality. The #80s shaped my music, movie, and style tastes. I believe some of the best coming-of-age stories and literary characters came out of the 80s. There is no other time like it, except maybe the early 90s *wink* 💋

I finally read YOUR’S CRUELLY, ELVIRA by @therealelvira and loved it! Thanks for recommending it @findingmontauk1! And I just started SLONIM WOODS 9 by Daniel Barban Levin so I can discuss it with @spookishmommy. Also, I picked up THE RIGHT SEX by Amia Srinivasan because I saw @literary_thrills talking about it.

I think I might read the Patricia Highsmith biography next! Anyone else really excited about the VC Andrew biography coming out? I believe it’s called THE WOMAN BEYOND THE ATTIC.

What an incredible book. A perfect way to honor an historic day.

11/22/63 is a multilayered story. King does what he does best, which is write compelling fiction and characters you’re invested in. And only King can rewrite history more than once and it somehow just works. This is an 800+ page book, but it never lulls. Also, fun fact: Jake and Sadie happen to be my favorite King couple. Theirs is a heartbreaking story that somehow warms my heart.

I think it’s almost time for a reread. Has anyone listened to the audiobook? I love rereading books that way.
